Brett & Michelle
Brett is the founding Senior Pastor of North Church, and is married to Michelle who loves to support him as a Pastor's wife.
They have three grown children; Keshia, Jemmah and Jarrod, who all work in local Primary Schools in Craigieburn. Brett was born in Charlton, Victoria and moved to Melbourne when he was six months old. His Father was often transferred from place to place, for work, so his formative years were spent growing up living in East Brighton; Colac; and Box Hill South. Michelle grew up in the same home in Burwood, Victoria until she was married.
Brett gave his heart to God at age thirteen but became a fully devoted follower of Jesus at 17 years of age and became an active member of Crossway (formerly, Blackburn Baptist Church). Michelle grew up in the Uniting Church but became a fully devoted follower of Jesus, also at 17 years of age and through Blackburn Baptist Church. They were married in 1986, and both served in Children and Youth ministry during their early years at Blackburn Baptist until 1994.
Following a call to full-time Christian Ministry, at age 23, Brett left Retail Management and was trained as a Student Pastor studying at the Melbourne School of Theology (formerly, the Bible College of Victoria) and Eastern College of Australia (Formerly, Tabor). He has been a youth Pastor (Blackburn Baptist 1989-1994; Diamond Valley Baptist (1994-1998); an Associate at Crossway Baptist (1998-2007); and planted North Church (2007).
Michelle has worked in many fields as she has followed Brett in ministry and raised their children. These include Bookkeeping, Medical Reception, Teacher Aide, Personal Assistant work and has been the part-time Office Manager at North Church for many years. Michelle has always volunteered her time wherever Brett has been in ministry.
Brett loves swimming, travelling, flying, gardening, cars and life in general (John 10:10b). Michelle loves reading, walking and talking with God, spending time with family and her fluffy dogs, as well as going out for coffee and the occasional meal with family and friends.
