Titles, Tags and Labels

I’ve never been a big fan of titles, tags or labels.

For example, I am often referred to as ‘Pastor Brett’ however, I am much more than just ‘Pastor’ – I am also a Citizen; a Son; a Husband; a Father; an employee, etc., etc. AND equally true: sometimes I am less than a ‘Pastor’ when I don’t fulfil that function well.

Society loves to place titles, tags and labels on us all. Sometimes it helps to frame who we are, whereas at other times it just boxes people in to stereotypes.

Today, we look at the Apostolic gift, given by God for the building up of the Church (Ephesians 4:11-13). It’s so much more than just a title, tag or label.

God Bless, Brett.
