Happy Christmas and a Blessed New Year
Albert Einstein is broadly credited with saying “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.”
Here we are into the third week of January. Did you happen to make some new year resolutions for 2017? How are you going? One thing I learned from 2016 is that eating ice cream every night isn’t going to help me lose weight.
The same principle holds true for wanting to grow closer to God in 2017. I hope that a universal desire for Crossway North is that we all want to grow closer to God. To do that we suggest that you set aside time for regular scripture reading and a prayer. If you were not involved in Connect Group last year then get into a Connect Group this year. We would also love to see everyone serving in a ministry this year.
Let’s make 2017 a great year where we grow closer to God, each other and our world. If you have questions on how to start this journey please contact the office.
Join Team North in 2017!
We are looking forward to a great year of ministry, starting with our compulsory “Leader’s Orientation” on Friday February 10th (7.30pm – 9pm) or Saturday February 11th (10am – 11.30am) and our ‘Launch’ Sunday on February 12th.
We are planning some new things with our children and youth in 2017 and are therefore seeking volunteers to be involved on a weekly or rostered basis during the school terms. Due to the new ‘Child Safe Standards’ we urgently require more adult help in our Children’s and Youth areas, to be able to offer these valuable ministries in 2017. All leaders/helpers will require a ‘Working With Children Check’ and to attend the Orientation in February.
We are asking you to commit this to prayer, to ask God about your own possible involvement and that He will provide all the leadership we need to grow these ministries in 2017.
“Jesus told them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Luke 10:2)
