North Church are currently in a pastoral search process; we appreciate your support and continued unity during the transitional process.
We move with confidence the Lord always provides and believe that he has the right person for this upcoming season.
In the interim, we are blessed to have
(Rev)ps. samy kaldas on board to Shepard us through.
A message from ps samy:
Since 2011, a senior pastor in Melbourne—who had served faithfully in pastoral ministry in both Egypt and Australia for over forty years—invited me to prayerfully consider whether God might be calling me to pastoral ministry.
This question resonated deeply with me, yet I was not immediately certain. Over the next four years, I engaged in prayer, reflection, and discernment, seeking clarity about this possible calling.
In 2015, my local church, Mill Park Baptist Church, formally established a discernment group to walk alongside me in this process. Through prayerful conversation, mentoring, and communal discernment, my sense of calling was affirmed.
By the end of 2015, the Baptist Union of Victoria accepted me as a provisional candidate for ordination.
In 2017, I experienced a growing conviction toward pastoral leadership and vocational ministry. This led to my local ordination as a pastor at Crossway North Baptist Church in June 2018.
Following continued formation, supervision, and service, I was formally ordained by the Baptist Union of Victoria in October 2022.
This journey of calling has been marked by patience, accountability, and communal affirmation, shaping my understanding of pastoral ministry as a shared and Spirit-led vocation within the life of the church.
Romans 8:28 states: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (NIV).
This verse emphasizes that God is sovereign and actively orchestrates every circumstance—both positive and challenging—for the ultimate benefit of those who love Him. The phrase “all things work together” indicates that even hardships, setbacks, or trials are part of God’s plan to fulfill His purpose in the lives of believers
